Journal of Web Librarianship

期刊简介：The Journal of Web Librarianship (JWL) is an international, peer-reviewed journal, focused on all aspects of librarianship and information science as practised today in the online environment, and in the current connected digital information ecosystem. It explores existing and emerging roles of library and information professionals, interdisciplinary approaches, management of online library and information services, innovative collaborations, library software and applications, transformative developments and emerging and future trends in various related fields such as education, culture and creativity, healthcare, government and beyond. JWL invites information professionals/practitioners and researchers, working in all types of information environment roles, e.g. in administration/management/leadership, education, and technology to submit original scholarly research (e.g., research articles/literature reviews), practical communications (e.g., notes and case reports) and reviews (e.g., book and product reviews). The journal accepts evidence-based theoretical, methodological, empirical and technical papers; and best practice reports of up to 9,000 words in length. JWL welcomes articles covering topics of current interest and future development, including but not limited to: information; management of online information /web services; digital and media literacy; equity, diversity and inclusion; user behavior on the web; open access and open research data; digital humanities; leadership and professional development; bibliometrics/webometrics; writing/academic support; online spaces; online publishing; collections and archives; digital museums; websites and platforms; social media trends and community networks; scholarly communication; digital citizenship; community online education; AI developments/trends and more. Notes and Case reports The Journal of Web Librarianship publishes two types of shorter practical submissions: Notes and Case Reports, which offer information leaders the opportunity to share opinion pieces on current issues, or to critically report on the implementation of new services and innovative projects, describing planning, practical aspects and desired outcomes (including successes, challenges, best practices and lessons learned). Some topics of interest may include, for example: open access, leadership, digital humanities projects, staff professional development, AI and digital tools, and more. Notes : This type of short contribution narrowly focuses on a specific research subject or aspect of professional practice with a length between 1,000-2,000 words. Case Reports : This type of contribution includes a case study, a case report, or a case series, with a length between 1,500-3,000 words. Book and Product Reviews The Journal of Web Librarianship publishes reviews that have practical applicability to the real, day-to-day work of professionals working in information environments, with a focus on how the internet impacts, enables, improves, and sometimes complicates their work. In addition to reviews of the monographs and edited volumes from library and information science publishers, the journal welcomes reviews of software and web resources of practical utility to library work, particularly of those that are available at no cost. Reviews have a length between 300-1000 words. Peer Review Policy: All articles and communications in the Journal of Web Librarianship have undergone both editorial screening and double- anonymized peer review.
