Journal of Urban Management

期刊简介：An international, peer-reviewed open access journal covering planning, administering, regulating, and governing urban complexity. More than half of the world population now lives in cities globally. In China, rapid urbanization has taken place since the economic reform in 1978. Managing urban complexity effectively will thus be one of the most challenging tasks faced by human beings for the 21st century. Based on the presumption that cities are complex systems and that plans for urban development alone cannot deal sufficiently with the deteriorated urban environment and the related issues that are derived from rapid urbanization, the Journal of Urban Management (JUM) has its two-fold aims set to integrate the studies across fields in urban planning and management, as well as to provide a more holistic perspective on problem solving.

【译文】一本经过同行评审的国际开放获取期刊，涵盖城市复杂性的规划、管理、监管和治理。目前，全球一半以上的人口居住在城市。在中国，自1978年经济改革以来，城市化进程迅速推进。有效管理城市的复杂性将成为21世纪人类面临的最具挑战性的任务之一。基于城市是复杂的系统，仅靠城市发展规划不足以应对日益恶化的城市环境以及快速城市化带来的相关问题，《城市管理杂志》（JUM）有两个目标：整合城市规划和管理的跨领域研究，并为解决问题提供更全面的视角。
