期刊简介:The International Journal of Science Education, Part B: Communication and Public Engagement addresses the communication between, and the engagement by, individuals and groups concerning evidence-based information about nature, outcomes and social consequences of science and technology. As a truly international journal, IJSE(B) welcomes quality papers from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. The journal aims: To bridge the gap between theory and practice concerning the communication of evidence-based information about the nature, outcomes, and social consequences of science and technology; To address the perspectives on communication about science and technology of individuals and groups of citizens of all ages, scientists and engineers, media persons, industrialists, policy makers, from countries throughout the world; To address issues of informal learning and communication of science beyond the school years; To promote informed discourse about the role of communication concerning science and technology in private, social, economic and cultural aspects of life To bridge the gap between theory and practice concerning the communication of evidence-based information about the nature, outcomes, and social consequences of science and technology; To address the perspectives on communication about science and technology of individuals and groups of citizens of all ages, scientists and engineers, media persons, industrialists, policy makers, from countries throughout the world; To address issues of informal learning and communication of science beyond the school years; To promote informed discourse about the role of communication concerning science and technology in private, social, economic and cultural aspects of life The journal publishes original papers include empirical research, theoretical position papers and comments and criticisms. • Empirical research papers These are accounts of empirical investigations that are theory-based and embedded in a critical review of relevant literature. Manuscripts should include an account of the methodology and procedures used, explain the analysis carried out and the conclusions reached, draw implications for the theory and practice of communication of science and technology, and point to possible future research. • Position papers These consist of analytical, interpretive, essays on the origin, nature, and possible ways of addressing, identified problems, challenges, or opportunities, relating to the communication of, or public engagement in, science and technology, including educational, social, or philosophical issues and trends. This category particularly seeks to promote informed dialogues about communication in science and technology and carefully reasoned papers representing disparate viewpoints are welcomed. Please note that space limitations restrict the number of position papers we can accept. • Comments and criticism These should contain expressions of opinion or information relating to articles published previously, or to matters of interest to communicators of science and technology. This category of manuscript allows readers the opportunity to express any reasonable view on a matter relevant to aims of the journal. Submissions for this category are limited to 2000 words. International Journal of Science Education Part B: Communication and Public Engagement has an associated journal, International Journal of Science Education, Part A . IJSE(A) publishes scholarly papers that focus on the teaching and learning of science, primarily in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education, bridging the gap between research and pedagogy, and providing information, ideas, and opinion about the teaching and learning of science. Readership: Science communication researchers and practitioners worldwide. Educators and communicators of science in the informal sector. Peer Review Policy: All articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
