期刊简介:The Pacific Review provides a major platform for the study of the international interactions of the countries of the Asia-Pacific. Our definition of the Asia-Pacific region is wide, encompassing its subregions in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, and Australasia, and the Pacific, and emergent conceptions of the Indo-Pacific. However, for those states and issues that extend to the wider Indo-Pacific but are outside the more traditional notions of the Asia-Pacific region, such as in South Asia and the Indian Ocean regions, the journal’s interest is in submissions that speak to interactions influencing the politics of the Asia-Pacific rather than the politics of those regions themselves. The journal's primary focus is on international politics in the broadest understandings of the term, allowing for contributions on foreign policy, security, military strategy, international relations, the international political economy of trade, finance and development, and the political drivers and consequences of transnational issues such as culture and national identity, democratisation, the environment, migration, and new technologies. We have a particular interest in how the region is understood, defined, conceived of, and organised. While The Pacific Review does accept papers on domestic issues, these should be located in broader debates and processes within the region, and reach conclusions that have salience beyond the specific case study country and may affect the wider international politics of the region. The journal is also interested in papers that examine historical processes in the region that inform understandings of contemporary politics and international relations but tends not to publish purely historical papers that are limited to examining one temporal period in isolation. The Pacific Review is highly pluralistic in approach and welcomes submissions from a range of theoretical and methodological perspectives. Nevertheless, we rarely publish submissions that employ formal quantitative theory as it is beyond the scope of the journal’s expertise and well catered for already in many other journals. The Pacific Review is interdisciplinary but sits firmly in the disciplines of International Relations and Area Studies, and all submissions should have a primary and substantial foundation of politics to their analysis. Peer Review Statement All research articles published in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
