期刊简介:The Journal of Energy & Natural Resources Law (JERL) of the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL) is the leading refereed journal in the field of energy and natural resources law, publishing four print issues per year as well as frequent on-line content updates. Featuring contributions from some of the finest academic minds and most successful practitioners in this area of study, JERL offers global coverage of energy and natural resources issues, research and commentary. JERL features articles that illuminate legal problems or issues currently faced by governments, companies and international organisations by setting them within their general legal, economic and/or political context. Areas covered include legal and policy questions pertaining to: oil and gas; coal; minerals (including critical minerals, non-fuel minerals and the nuclear fuel cycle), water, renewable energy (including hydro and geothermal power, solar, tidal, wind and ocean energy, and timber and agricultural waste use), electricity, heating and cooling, transport. Finally, the journal covers legal and policy questions pertaining to the energy transition as well as the social justice, climate and environmental considerations of energy and natural resources exploration, production and consumption. First launched in January 1983, JERL is both a practitioner and an academic journal. It publishes articles that record the experience of lawyers resolving practical problems or developing legal devices or techniques, as well as contributions from academics and their research. JERL is distributed to all members of IBA SEERIL and is available on several electronic databases. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, subject to peer review by at least two independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double anonymized. The Editors are assisted by the Journal Board and Editorial Advisory Committee, comprised in part of members of the Academic Advisory Group (AAG) of IBA SEERIL. Together, they bring to the journal an unsurpassed expertise in all areas of energy and natural resources law. The Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law publishes the following types of papers: Articles Articles are original research papers that put forward an explicit research objective, observe commonly accepted methodological criteria for quality research and contribute to the state-of-the art in legal scholarship. In practice, this means that articles must clearly set out the research framework for the reader. Specifically, an article should explain what is being done (the focus and objective of the paper as well as a clear argument or a message), why it is being done (what the existing legal scholarship says, what your contribution adds, and why it matters), and how it is being done (a description of the process through which your research objective is reached, including what legal sources or other data are used and how they are analysed). The Journal will only review and publish original research articles of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of the Journal. Articles with a focus on a single jurisdiction should explain their relevance to the Journal’s global readership. Comments Comments are a flexible paper format that can focus on recent legislative developments, current debates in legal scholarship or on important cases in the area of energy and natural resources law. Papers that do not meet all the criteria of research articles, such as reports, may be suitable as a comment. Similarly to articles, comments focusing on a single jurisdiction should elaborate on their relevance to the Journal’s global readership. Book Reviews Book reviews are informative and insightful analyses of recent publications in energy and natural resources law. Case notes Case notes are concise summaries and analyses of significant and recent courts’ decisions influencing energy and natural resources law.
