The Journal of Island and Coastal Archaeology

期刊简介：Journal of Island & Coastal Archaeology (JICA) is aimed at archaeologists and other scientists with interests in the archaeology and historical ecology of islands and coastal settings. This quarterly journal publishes original research papers, major review articles, reports, short notes, occasional book reviews, forums of significance, and occasional special issues to a broad international audience. We encourage submissions on a variety of innovative and interdisciplinary topics, including syntheses of particular islands or coastal regions around the world, major methodological and theoretical advances in the study of pre-contact island and coastal societies, and the historical ecology and human ecodynamics of island and coastal environments. JICA provides an international forum for scholars from a variety of disciplines who share a common interest in studying islands, archipelagoes, submerged sites, and coastal regions. It is the goal of the journal to publish high quality, peer-reviewed research papers that contribute to a better understanding of the role islands and coastal regions played in the formative development of human societies across space and over time. Papers addressing Classical and more recent historical contexts, shipwrecks, antiquarian, or archival-based research are generally not considered. Interested authors who are uncertain whether a prospective manuscript fits the journal’s scope or would like to discuss organizing a special issue on a thematic topic of interest to JICA readers are encouraged to contact the editors. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by two to four anonymous referees.
