期刊简介：The Journal of Agricultural Education & Extension: Competence for Rural Innovation and Transformation is an international journal dedicated to inform researchers, policy makers and practitioners of agricultural education and extension about research conducted in this field. The Journal focuses on contributions to theory and improvements in policies, strategies, methods and practices for agricultural education and extension. The Journal accepts authoritative and well-referenced scientific articles within the field of agricultural education and extension, following a double-anonymized peer review process. The field of agricultural education and extension is dynamic and continuously evolves in the context of multiple challenges and new perspectives. To respond to these changes, the journal embraces multi-disciplinary and systemic perspectives, publishing original research and novel evidence on issues related to learning, communication, innovation, change, and competence development related to agricultural education and extension. The journal accepts papers related to advisory and extension practices, policies and systems, intermediaries in agricultural innovation, multi-stakeholder processes, agricultural innovation systems and education related to extension, and emerging innovation in these topics. In the area of agricultural education, the JAEE accepts papers that focus on the education and training of farmers, farm workers, future farmers, agricultural advisors and extension staff, agricultural professionals and change agents. Importantly, in the case of agricultural education studies, agriculture should be the focus and not only the context for the study. For instance, a study on pedagogical strategies used in a faculty of agricultural sciences is not specific enough if it does not pay particular attention to the specificities of teaching topics related to agriculture. All submissions are required to make significant contributions to theory in the context of agricultural education and extension; use state-of-the art methods; contribute to global literature and have both practical and policy implications that go beyond one country or case study and demonstrate relevance to the wider agricultural extension and education community. Studies which focus on agricultural technology adoption or on the evaluation of education and training programs with no strong connection or implications to extension theory are therefore outside the scope of the journal. The JAEE accepts high quality qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods studies. Authors are strongly encouraged to review recent work from the Journal to be able to position their manuscripts in lines of work and theoretical debates in JAEE. Published authors could expect invitations from the Journal to act as reviewers for future manuscripts submitted to the journal in their area of expertise. The Journal of Agricultural Education & Extension accepts four types of manuscripts 1. Research Articles: original empirical research using appropriate methods and data. 2. Review Articles: review or state of the art summary articles that furthers agricultural education and extension theory and offer new thinking and insights. 3. Policy papers including policy reviews related to current topics and themes in agricultural education and extension. 4. Commentary article: An article whose subject or focus is another article or articles published in the JAEE, written by an author with a contrasting position, that contribute to debates on current core topics and themes in the journal. The journal does not accept book reviews. All submissions must comply with the Instructions for Authors , including a structured abstract. Peer Review The Journal of Agricultural Education & Extension ensures that all articles published in the journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial screening by the editorial committee and, if found suitable for further consideration, double-blind refereeing by at least two referees who are active in the academic community. If needed, editors may invite additional reviewers during the first or second round. In this case, initial review comments will be made available to new reviewers. Given the high level of submissions, many are rejected during the initial screening stage. The purpose of the refereeing process is to ensure that articles provide relevant and accurate material for those who do and use research, including: researchers, agricultural education and extension managers, trainers and experts, agricultural innovation and communication professionals, and policy makers. Editorials do not go through peer review but are reviewed by the journal's editorial team. Our editors are not involved in making decisions about papers which: they have written themselves, have been written by family members or colleagues of the same institution, scholars with whom they have recently collaborated or coauthored papers in the last 5 years, relate to products or services in which they have an interest. Any such submissions will be subject to the journal's usual procedures and peer review will be handled independently of the editor involved, and their research group or affiliates.
