期刊简介:Please note, the Print ISSN is not in active use as this journal is no longer published in print. Engineering and sustainable development are intrinsically linked, and truly sustainable solutions are created through sharing ideas and new knowledge. Engineering solutions have been at the forefront of climate change mitigation and will play an even more vital role in future adaptation strategies. The International Journal of Sustainable Engineering (IJSE) aims to provide engineers from a variety of backgrounds with access to a valuable source of cross-disciplinary information for promoting sustainable practices. One of the principal objectives of the journal is to stimulate innovation and development of sustainable products and production technologies, as well as novel services and business models. A key consideration is also to encourage the generation of timely, effective regulations and educational programmes to support various corporate and social stakeholders – from engineers to managers, and from policy makers to consumers. As such, IJSE invites original manuscripts in areas including but not limited to: Methodologies, Modelling and Management Engineering design for sustainable development Life cycle sustainability assessment Product versus service paradigms Distributed versus localised production and consumption Sustainable and resilient supply chain management Sustainable and circular business models Novel organisational structures and systems to support industrial ecology Technologies, Processes and Resources Sustainable technology innovation to support resource efficiency and circular economy Sustainable material development and process engineering Biotechnologies and bio-based materials to promote bioeconomy Energy and water conservation and low-carbon manufacturing Waste minimisation, remanufacturing, reuse and recycling technologies Renewable energy technologies and sustainable energy storage Engineering solutions to minimise the degradation of natural resources AI, intelligent sensing, IoT, big data analysis for sustainable SMART manufacturing Legislation, Education and Corporate Social Factors Environmental management and ISO standards Producer responsibility and ecologically aware legislations Promoting sustainable use and consumption models Engineering solutions for developing countries Defining policies for regional development and stimulating local economy Engineering education for sustainable development Submission and Reviewing Process: In addition to standard manuscript formats , we also accept submissions in the form of ‘Short Communications’ and ‘Book Reviews’. Short Communications provide an opportunity for prompt ‘fast-track’ publication of brief manuscripts that do not exceed 2000 words and 4 illustrations. Book Reviews will be 500-600 words in length and cover emerging texts relevant to practitioners and researchers within sustainable development. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single anonymous and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts . Please note that International Journal of Sustainable Engineering converted to a full Open Access journal from Volume 15 (2022).
