期刊简介：Climate Policy is a world-leading peer-reviewed academic journal, publishing high quality research and analysis on all aspects of climate policy, including both mitigation and adaptation. Climate Policy aims to make high-quality research accessible and relevant to academics, and also to policymakers and practitioners. Our objective is to provide a platform for new ideas, innovative approaches and research-based insights that can help advance an effective response to climate change in practice. To do so, the journal particularly seeks to highlight the policy implications of emergent research and analysis. As an interdisciplinary journal, Climate Policy encourages submissions from all academic fields, but with a requirement that papers are written in an accessible style. Climate Policy welcomes submissions across a broad range of areas, including: · Mitigation and adaptation (beyond a focus on climate impacts alone) to climate change, loss and damage, climate change laws, technologies and innovations, institutions and governance at different scales, and climate finance · Design of climate-relevant policies and policy packages, implementation and evaluation of their impact on the ground, especially ex-post empirical assessment. · International climate negotiations and related international processes relevant to global climate governance, including linkages to geopolitics, trade and finance · Linkages to broader processes of structural change and transformation at regional, national and local levels, including low-emissions and climate-resilient development, sectoral transitions, and just transitions. · Please also look at the more detailed substantive criteria for consideration by Climate Policy . The senior editorial team and reviewers look for manuscripts that score high on these criteria To promote independent commentary and debate, Climate Policy publishes papers in the following formats, all of which are peer reviewed and eligible for open access (see more information here ): · Research articles present the latest research on all aspects of climate change policy (7,000 words) · Synthesis articles review the state of knowledge in key areas of interest (8,000 words). · Policy Analysis articles put forward evidence-based objective analysis of particular policy approaches (5,000 words) · Viewpoint articles offer rigorous insights and commentary on contemporary climate debates, including from practitioners and policymakers (3,000 words) Information on submitting a proposal for a special issue can be found here. Substantive criteria for papers to be considered for publication in Climate Policy In order to be approved for review, the senior editorial team will assess whether a manuscript meets, or is likely to meet, the following criteria. With the exception of scope, which is the prerogative of the senior editorial team to assess, reviewers are specifically invited to comment on the four other criteria in their reports. Scope: Manuscripts must advance knowledge on how to respond to climate change, broadly understood, to include linkages with policy arenas that have significant climate relevance (see also our editorial Charting a Course for Climate Policy . Common examples of out-of-scope papers received are those that focus solely on local air pollution, or on the impacts of climatic changes (e.g. reduced agricultural yields) without consideration of adaptation strategies. Originality: Manuscripts must offer novel insights, that will make a significant contribution to the academic literature and/or to empirical understanding of climate policy. Academic quality and rigour: Manuscripts must meet high academic expectations consistent with the discipline of the author. These include clear and well-defined research questions or aims; a sound methodology; location of the analysis within the extant literature; strong argumentation; logical structure; and appropriate style and language (bearing in mind accessibility and clarity, see below). Policy relevance: Manuscripts must explicitly engage with and develop the policy implications of their analysis and findings in a way that it is relevant to policymakers, practitioners and the climate policy research community; analytical papers that fail to devote sufficient attention and space to policy implications are unlikely to be published. Ex post analyses of existing policies are particularly welcomed. Case studies limited to a single geographical area should draw out wider lessons that might be applicable to other jurisdictions. Bibliometric studies are only considered if they draw clear policy implications. Papers on conceptual or methodological issues relevant to climate policy are also welcome, as are innovative but realistic proposals for future climate policy approaches and instruments. Accessibility and clarity: Manuscripts must be written in a clear and accessible style. Manuscripts must also be understandable to a wide audience, including academics across disciplines and readers outside of academia. Excessive jargon should be avoided. Underlying datasets and other detailed technical information (e.g. to explain models) should be supplied in Supplementary Online Material or otherwise in online form.
