Aging Neuropsychology and Cognition

期刊简介：The purpose of Aging, Neuropsychology, and Cognition is to (a) publish research on both the normal and pathological aspects of cognitive development in adulthood and aging, and (b) promote the integration of theories, methods, and research findings between the fields of cognitive aging, neuropsychology, and cognitive neuroscience. The primary emphasis of the journal is to publish original empirical research that advances our understanding of mechanisms and theoretical underpinnings underlying cognitive functioning in healthy older adults and individuals suffering from age-related cognitive disorders. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: memory, attention, cognitive control, language, cognitive training, cognitive and pharmacological approaches to treatment and rehabilitation, metacognition, social determinants of cognitive functioning in aged samples, and the impact of injury or disease on cognitive processes. Theoretical or methodological papers, critical reviews of a content area, or theoretically relevant case studies will also be considered for publication, on a limited basis. With this renewed focus on cognitive mechanisms, we will no longer accept psychometric or validation papers. Nor will we accept papers that simply use cognition as an outcome measure. We encourage submissions that use neuroscience and neuroimaging methods (e.g., fMRI, fNIRS, EEG, MEG, and non-invasive brain stimulation) towards advancing our understanding of cognition in both normative and pathological forms of aging. Multiple approaches to issues of aging and cognition (e.g., basic, applied, clinical), and multiple methodologies (e.g., cross-sectional, longitudinal, experimental, multivariate correlation) are appropriate.
