期刊简介:Now included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) Human Resource Development International promotes all aspects of practice and research that explore issues of individual, group and organisational learning and performance. In adopting this perspective Human Resource Development International is committed to questioning the divide between practice and theory; between the practitioner and the academic; and between traditional and experimental methodological approaches. Human Resource Development International is committed to a wide understanding of 'organisation' - one that extends through self-managed teams, voluntary work, or family businesses to global enterprises and bureaucracies. Human Resource Development International also commits itself to exploring the development of organisations and the life-long learning of people and their collectivity (organisation), their strategy and their policy, from all parts of the world. In this way Human Resource Development International will become a leading forum for debate and exploration of the interdisciplinary field of human resource development. HRDI Insights: Alternative Perspectives. Provocative Thinking. Applied Impact HRDI Insights is the non–peer-reviewed section of the Human Resource Development International journal, providing a dynamic platform for timely, thought-provoking contributions that complement our core academic content. This section invites contributions that: • Introduce novel ideas in HRD research and practice • Spark theoretical debate • Explore emerging policies and regional/national practices • Share innovative applications of HRD in today’s digital and globalised work environments We particularly welcome submissions that reflect underrepresented perspectives , including insights from emerging economies , and those that challenge conventional thinking or introduce new models of practice. HRDI Insights is a space for bold thinking, cross-sector dialogue, and impactful reflection. If your work pushes the boundaries of how we understand and practice HRD, please submit your work to the journal. What You Can Submit Submissions to HRDI Insights fall into four key categories: 1. HRD Future Frontiers . Cutting-edge commentary on critical and contemporary HRD issues with forward-looking potentials. Encourage pieces that challenge orthodoxy or spark intellectual disruption. Submissions should: • Present fresh perspectives or reinterpret established ideas • Challenge dominant narratives or offer integrative frameworks • Raise provocative questions for future inquiry • Strike a balance between informed opinion and evidence-based argument • Novel book reviews and assessment 2. Short Research Briefs . Aligned with HRDI’s commitment to critical and cutting-edge thinking, these briefs encourage authors to explore novel ideas or underexplored contexts. This section is designed to surface novel ideas, innovative methodologies, and underexplored contexts that may not yet fit the scope or length of a full peer-reviewed article, but still offer significant value to the field. Submissions should: • Offer new insights relevant to HRD professionals and scholars • Introduce topics not traditionally addressed in HRD literature • Include clear practical implications 3. Scholar ‘Sparks’ . A platform for diverse doctoral voices and emerging scholars specially from underrepresented regions, disciplines, or methodological approaches, to share early-stage ideas or emerging findings. This section offers a platform to share early-stage insights, unfinished ideas, or emerging frameworks from their research journeys. Whether it’s a bold hypothesis, a new conceptual model, or a shift in HRD thinking, we welcome fresh contributions that challenge, inspire, and move the field forward. Submissions should: • Present a distinctive aspect of ongoing dissertation work • Clearly explain how the research contributes to the HRD field 4. Practice in Action : Insights grounded in practice from HRD professionals and organisational leaders. It encourages co-authorship between academics and practitioners. Submissions should: • Case examples of innovative organisational practices. Encourage before/after case studies or lessons learned from failed initiatives • New conceptual models or approaches • Critical reflections on trends shaping modern workplaces Submission Guidelines • Maximum word count : 4,000 (excluding abstract, references, figures/tables) • Big idea : 100-word summary explaining the unique insight • Figures/tables : Include only if essential and well-justified • References : Proper citation of all sources is required • Focus : Submissions must offer clear insight into HRD issues and show international relevance Additional Information Contributors to any section of HRDI Insights are encouraged to enhance their submissions with multimedia elements, such as a 60–120 second video abstract, a visual explainer (e.g., model, timeline, or graphic), or a podcast-style audio summary, to boost accessibility and engage a wider audience. To foster richer dialogue and cross-pollination of ideas, HRDI Insights welcomes response pieces that span submission categories. For instance, a Doctoral Contribution might introduce a new conceptual model, which could then be explored in a Practitioner Paper reflecting on its practical application. A subsequent Thought Leadership submission might critique, expand, or reinterpret the model within broader theoretical or contextual frameworks. This dynamic exchange encourages debate, advances knowledge, and bridges theory and practice across the global HRD community. Please note: Although HRDI Insights is a non–peer-reviewed section, all submissions undergo rigorous editorial screening and are reviewed by a member of the journal’s editorial team to ensure quality, relevance, and alignment with the journal’s aims. Special Issue Proposals The journal warmly welcomes proposals for special issues that explore timely, emerging, or underrepresented topics within the field of Human Resource Development. We encourage scholars and practitioners to submit proposals that offer fresh perspectives, innovative research agendas, or interdisciplinary approaches that align with the journal’s mission and scope. When preparing your proposal, please include a clear outline of the theme, its significance to the field, potential contributing authors or networks, and how the issue will advance knowledge and practice in HRD. Special issues provide a unique opportunity to lead focused scholarly conversations and foster collaborative engagement among researchers and professionals worldwide. We look forward to receiving your innovative ideas and supporting impactful thematic collections. Please submit your proposal by following this link: Editor-in-Chief. Peer Review Policy: All articles in the peer-reviewed section have undergone anonymous double-anonymized review. All other articles have undergone strict editorial screening.
